The science club is a before school activity at LDV that started at the end of October, that includes fun chemical reactions, labs, and animal dissections. I interviewed Joseph W. about what he liked about science club and he said, “I like the science club because of the fun animal dissections, my favorite lab was the squid dissection”. The science club takes place in room number 28 with Mr. Androlowicz, the club includes six, seven, and eighth graders. Every other year the science club goes to either Florida or Costa Rica, this year we are taking a trip to Yosemite. The Yosemite fieldtrip will be taking 12-24 kids, they will be staying overnight in Curry village on April 12th thru the 14th, the fieldtrip cost $300 per student and $232 per chaperone. As for next year the science club will be taking a trip to Costa Rica, the Costa Rica trip will cost more than the Yosemite trip, the price is not yet determined. On Feb. 20th 2015, we will be making bridges out of popsicle sticks and seeing who’s bridge will hold the most weight. At the end of the lab we will have a competition, and the winner’s who can hold at least 100 pounds will receive some kind of prize. The next science club is on Friday the 6th in room 28.
