Pokemon X and Y

Pokémon is one of these games in which I’ve played since Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. Pokémon X and Y have brought generation 6 to a brand new level with 3-D graphics, the new Pokémon introduced in Generation 6, and the new mega evolutions. Currently, there are 14 Pokémon that can mega evolve. I interviewed Starlight V., a friend of mine who is also in 8th grade and plays Pokémon. I asked Starlight V., “Why do you think the new mega evolutions were added and which mega evolution is your favorite?” Starlight V. said, “I don’t know. Wait, umm, to make the game better? Ugh! My favorite mega evolution is Mega Charizard X.” Pokémon X and Y came out on October 12, 2013 and the majority of people got Pokémon X just because of the Mewtwo and Charizard mega evolutions. I got both Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. Starlight likes the fact that you can now find shinies easier with the Poke Radar. You can also fish chain for shiny Pokémon. The shiny encounter rate went from 1/8192 to 1/2000. Like the other Pokémon games, there are 8 gyms as well as the Elite 4 and the champion. There is also a special Mystery Gift event for a Torchic holding a Blazikenite, the mega stone needed for Blaziken to evolve into Mega Blaziken. The gift only lasts until January 4th so go and get that Torchic. Pokémon X and Y came out on October 12th, 2013, so get your copy now; it’s about $40 at Target, Best Buy, and GameStop. Have fun exploring the new Kalos region and the new mega evolutions!
